When you use ScoreLab.ai's essay checker, we collect and store:

  • Your essay text (to generate your score and for service improvement)
  • Your email address (when provided, for rate limiting and communication)
  • A hashed version of your IP address (for abuse prevention — we never store your raw IP)
  • Your exam type selection and scores received
  • Anonymous usage analytics via PostHog (page views, feature usage, no personal identifiers)

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide AI-powered essay scoring and feedback
  • To enforce free tier limits (3 checks per week per email)
  • To improve our scoring accuracy over time
  • To communicate product updates (only if you opted in — we never sell your email)

How to Delete Your Data

You can request deletion of all data associated with your email by contacting us at privacy@scorelab.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India).

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ScoreLab.ai:

  • Google Gemini— processes your essay text for scoring (Google's privacy policy applies)
  • Supabase — stores your account and essay data (hosted in AWS, encrypted at rest)
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection (no personal data stored)
  • PostHog — anonymous product analytics
  • Vercel — hosts the website
