When you use ScoreLab.ai's essay checker, we collect and store:
- Your essay text (to generate your score and for service improvement)
- Your email address (when provided, for rate limiting and communication)
- A hashed version of your IP address (for abuse prevention — we never store your raw IP)
- Your exam type selection and scores received
- Anonymous usage analytics via PostHog (page views, feature usage, no personal identifiers)
How We Use Your Data
- To provide AI-powered essay scoring and feedback
- To enforce free tier limits (3 checks per week per email)
- To improve our scoring accuracy over time
- To communicate product updates (only if you opted in — we never sell your email)
How to Delete Your Data
You can request deletion of all data associated with your email by contacting us at privacy@scorelab.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India).
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate ScoreLab.ai:
- Google Gemini— processes your essay text for scoring (Google's privacy policy applies)
- Supabase — stores your account and essay data (hosted in AWS, encrypted at rest)
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection (no personal data stored)
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics
- Vercel — hosts the website
